Top 5 weird spams I received

I'm not sure if I ever mentioned what an e-mail enthusiastic I am. While on a computer, I check my inbox every 10 minutes and get really excited when there's a new message. Sometimes I'm too bored to wait and start looking on my spam box, to check if there's anything interesting.

It happens that once in a while spams can be really creative or at least really weird. These are my top 5. I kept the writing as original, but removed occasional hyperlinks, just in case anyone says I'm spreading virus or something. Enjoy!

5. The Sex-Business Penpal

"Subject: I am finally became a boss
Message:
Hundreds of lovely woman will be glad to get a letter from you."

First of all, thanks for sharing your life, anonymous friend. I am happy to know that you became a boss (although your grammar is even worse than mine), but I'm really curious to know how is that related to the content of your message. Did you become a boss of a women agency? Do these women communicate by letters?! Really? Is this a spam just for snail mail lovers or what?

4. The bullying

"Hi Bárbara Prince!

You still have 0 new messages in your InterPals inbox from .

To read your messages, view your inbox."

Seriously, InterPals? Are you really telling me what a forever alone I am? Oh, thank you for your e-mail, but I bet you sent it because you don't have new messages either, do you?

3. The Eclectic

"from:     Pamela Anderson weight loss Free trial
subject: Your morning fashion and beauty report: Anne Hathaway?"

You all have to agree that this is a strategic spam. I bet everyone is interested in at least one of these topics: Pamela Anderson, losing weigh, Anne Hathaway, fashion and beauty. Aren't you? Well, me neither. But that was a nice try from them!

2. The International Relations

"Hello,
I seek your confirmation to transfer fund to your country for investment.Contact me for details.

Best Regards,
Mr. Fred Huang Ming."

Mr. Fred Huang Ming,
If you're really interested in investing on my country, I have a better idea: maybe you should contact my president! For real, man, I am a simple citizen with financial problems, you better not trust that I will invest your fund to my country. You may found out I'm not THAT much of a patriot.

1. The Adriana

"BABE... i guess your not getting any of my email huh? ive been tryign to email u so many times but this dam laptop is such a piece of garbage and keeps freezing.. anyways how u been?
In case u dont know who this is its ME Adriana.. we used to chat a bit on facebook and then I think u deleted me :( haha.. anyways guess what... I got 2 things to tell u.. both good news.. 1) im single now.. yup me and my bf broke up about 3 months ago... and 2) guess where im moving? RIGHT EFFING NEAR U.. lol... ur actually the only person im gonna know there.. [...]"

Okay, this hot(?) girl seems to think I know her and wants to be with me. Seems legit. It goes on:

"we only chatted a couple times but i remember thinking to myself i wanted to get ot know u better when i was single..a nd i thoguth u were cute too but cudnt tell u cause i wasnt single lol...ok so more info about me.. well im 23.. virgo.. love the outdoors and love to socialize, go out for drinks, restaurants, movies etc.. travel.. i have a lil kitty named BOO and i luv her to death... uhhh oh im a super horny gurl too but every gurl is they just wont admit it. so ilove watching p0rn and all that.. love sex etc blah blah blah...who doesnt.."

Ok, you started telling me about your zodiac and your cat and now you're horny. I'm still lucky that I "accidentally" got your e-mail. ~yay!

"do u have any hookups or know anybody hiring? id LOVE to work in a bar or osmehting like that...really anythgin cause my current job is fun and all.. and technically i CUD keep doign it but i want a change.. i currently work from home and well thats cool but i need ot be out meeting people.. oh wait. i dont think i ever actually told u what i did? hmm shud i......????"

No, I'm not interested.

"ok WELLLL... and dont get all weirded out on me.. i work on a webcam chat community site and i get paid to chat with people and get naked HHAHA... BOMB right :)? I KNOW.. like i figure iim horny anyways why not get paid to chat with people and play with myself heheh...anyways i hope u dont look down on that and NO THATS NOT WHY IM CONTACTING U RELAX URSELF lol... i actually need help once i move and i remembered u live there so im reaching out..."

And it goes on and on. In the end, there's a super safe link to watch Adriana naked (despite her statement that she's not writing to you because of that).
My surprise is that not only this spam is huge and has a story (is some bored writer doing this?), that it's also a multiple spam: I'd already received three other e-mails from Adriana, telling me about her life and inviting me to see her naked. Whoever is faking this is really putting some effort on it!

***

I hope this list made you laugh a little or even made you a little curious: what weird things can be on my spam inbox (except, of course, from the default things like "get it larger" and "you won the lottery")? Go check it and don't forget to turn on your firewall!

Top List Tuesday #6

Hey, it's been a long time since my last post, right? Sorry about that. But here I am with a brand new top list for you!

Those who know me know that I am a cat lover, but I wonder if they know that is a bit uncommon in here. Many times, when I say I have cats, people will say they hate them and use many unreasonable arguments against cats. I don't know what's the point on questioning a person's choice for their pets. Anyway, there's a lot of injustice on the way people see cats, and today I decided to talk about that.

Top 6 nonsense I've heard about cats
And why they're not true

Holly and Luka are brothers, and they're 6 years old

1. They're "The Devil in Disguise"
Yes, I've heard people using religion as an excuse for their hate for cats. I do respect everyone's beliefs, but honestly I'd never heard of a religion according to which cats are ruled by evil forces or something. In my personal view, I don't see how God would create an animal just to be evil - I don't see the point of that.

Okay, here Luka looks like a little devil...

2. Cats are stupid, because you can't train them
First of all, you can train cats. Here's a video of my cats doing some tricks on my sister's command (if you can't access it, please let me know). But that's not the point. If I ask you to sit down, or to roll in the ground, or to give me your hand or to pretend you're dead: would you do that? Just because I told you so? No offenses, but I don't think you can say the more animals (or people) obey, the smartest they are...

3. Cats don't love you, they only care about the house/food
This obviously comes from someone who never had a cat. There's no logical way I can explain you how much love a cat will give you, asking nothing in return. Really, you can feel they love you. If they don't, well, they possibly have a reason. Now, I hear many people saying that as a comparison to dogs. Well, let me tell you something: if you don't feed your dog, he'll be just as upset as my cat would be, and that doesn't mean he doesn't like you.

4. Cats are bad because they eat birds
Lions eat zebras, which are really cool animals. Do you think lions are bad? I just think that's their nature. Cats eat birds, that is normal to me. Now, humans put birds on cages just to hear them sing! Don't get me wrong, I had birds myself. But I really don't think that's more natural than the cat's hunting instinct.

5. Cats aren't fun, they don't play along
Have you ever visited youtube?

6. I don't like cats because they're too independent
Well, now we've got to the point. I believe that's the reason people really dislike cats. They don't depend on you. They are not your pets, they're your friends and, as any other friends, some days they're chatty and smiley and some days they just want to be alone. And if they don't want to live with you, they'll just walk away. I think that's pretty about a human-cat relationship. They choose to stay with us.

Now, I must let you know that I'm not only a cat lover - I'm the owner of two beautiful dogs, and I love them to pieces. Being a cat person doesn't make me a dog hater, a crazy old woman or something like that. Yet, I hear stupid stuff from people all the time.

Do you like cats too? Have you heard people being irrational about them?

Top List Tuesday #5

If you have ever talked to me for more than 5 minutes, I had probably told you that I really hate the hot weather. But it seems that my problem has no immediate solution, as I live in a tropical country. It's not summer yet, but last week we had 38ºC, so I thought I might need to cheer myself up by thinking of some good summer stuff.

Top 5 summer things

1. Heavy rain

2. Dresses, sunglasses and sandals

3. Ice creams

4. Daylight saving time

5. Vacations

Top List Tuesday #4

Today's top list is about stamps! Who doesn't like choosing pretty stamps to send on your letters and postcards? I sure do. And today I want to share my favorites with you!

Top 5 Brazilian Stamps

1. Folklore

These four beautiful stamps feature some legends of the Brazilian folklore. There is one really cool legend behind the illustration in each stamp.

2. Birds

I love how colorful these birds are - the third one has the colors of the Brazilian flag!

3. Acarajé and Carnaval

This is the Brazil-Belgium collection, although I don't see anything Belgium there. The first stamp show our Carnaval and the second one, some women making and selling acarajé, a typical food.

4. Wild cats

I really like stamps showing the nature on my country, and this one is special for showing two beautiful species of wild cats.

5. Fernando Pessoa

If you hadn't heard of this awesome Portuguese poet, stop what you're doing right now and go read his poems. Really. He's awesome. I'm happy he's on these stamps.

What do you think of these stamps?
And do you also have some favorite stamps from your country?

Top List Tuesday #2

Hey guys! I'm having kind of a stressful week, and I'm looking forward to the holliday on friday (Brazil's Independence Day)... I'm going to the beach with some friends, and hopefully get some rest. But, as I have to face real life until friday, I thought that looking at the bright side of life would cheer me up. That's how I picked today's topic:

Top 3 reasons why I love São Paulo

São Paulo is the largest city in Brazil. It's my homeplace and I really enjoy living here. So, I thought of listing for you my favorite features on it, and at the same time remember myself how lucky I am to be here.

1. Avenida Paulista

Awesome Paulista view, by my boyfriend

Paulista Avenue is my favorite place ever. I work in there everyday, but still that's my favorite place to go on my free time. It's a huge avenue filled with restaurants, malls, bookstores, cool buildings and mainly cool and interesting people. That's where many remarkable events happen, and also where you can take a nice walk on a sunday morning (or on a saturday night, as in the day my boyfriend took this pic), surrounded by art on a nice urban environment.

2. Night clubs

Some friends and I rocking around The Clock.

One thing I love about living in a big city is that you also have a new place to visit. Really, it's impossible to go to all the cool places São Paulo has to offer, what means there are fun places to anyone. I have been to gay clubs, board game pubs, karaokes... and, my favorite one, a 50's themed night club named The Clock Rock Bar.

3. Street art and weird people

A regular public phone, decorated by an artist. (photo by my boyfriend)

All kinds of arts (and other weird things that may or may not be considered as art) happen in São Paulo. There are street musicians, living statues, clowns, grafitti, ... and also some things that I'm not sure if are related to art or to weird people. I once have seen 5 girls brushing each other hairs in a line, all of them wearing white dresses, in Paulista Avenue, on a weekday. I don't really know their intention with that, but it surely made me love my city a bit more.

I think that seeing good things on the place you live it's a good practice.
What do you like most about your homeplace?

Top List Tuesday #1

Hello everyone!

Today I'll start another special series of posts. Every two weeks, on tuesday, I'll post a list. A random list, about anything, any list I'm inspired to write. I'll try to make it interesting, from the beginning.
So, every week you'll have a special post from me: on one week, it will be the Postcard Thursday, and, on the following week, the Top List Tuesday.
I hope you like it and I would apreciate to hear your opinion on that. :)

Let's start the very first one...

Top 5 video games from my childhood

I know, I know, it's a quite specific list. But I do enjoy some vintage games, mainly these ones from the 90s or 80s, which represent my childhood. I'm posting it to share this with you and, if you like video games as well, maybe you can check these titles out!

1. Twinsen's Odyssey

This is possibly my favorite game ever, and it's not quite popular, as I've never met more than 5 people who played it too. It is an adventure game for PC, on which Twinsen has the mission to save his planet from some mysteryous aliens. It is not an action game, but it's quite hard some times, and the story is very interesting and complex. Also, there are some tricky parts which require a little more from your brain.
Twinsen's Odyssey is actually part 2 of another game named Little Big Adventure, but the story is new and independent. Here is the intro video of the game (the graphics on the video are better than in the gameplay, as usual).

2. Pokémon Red and Blue

As a child born in the very beginning of the 90's, I had been part of the so called "Pokémon fever". Every single child was addicted to Pokémon-related stuff, and I was specially into it. (I wonder if someone reading this is also missing that time.) I hadn't had a Nintendo Game Boy until I was 17, but I sure had a great time playing Pokémon Red/Blue on my friend's devices or on PC emulators. I'm currently replaying the Blue version on my Game Boy Color and adoring it, as always. Did you also have fun with these games?

3. Land of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse

Here's one of those old platform games with a repetitious music that would annoy your parents when you play all day long. During my whole childhood, my sister and I had a Sega's Master System III (actually we still have and use it!), and Land of Illusion was one of our favorite games. It was starred by Mickey, who one day fell asleep reading a book and woke up to found himself inside the book's world, and having to rescue all his friends in there.

4. The Simpsons Arcade Game

When I was a child, some friends of mine had their birthday parties on these arcade games, and my favorite game to play during these parties was The Simpsons! It was a long game for sure, and quite hard to do it until the end (I only did it because, during these parties, we had free credits!). It had a cool Simpsons story and it was very fun to combine characters' attacks to make combos. The following trailer is new because the game have been recently relaunched on PSN.

5. Super Bomberman 3

It's hard to me to choose a favorite Snes game. I had this CD-ROM with a hundred of them for PC, and I played it a lot... but I can say Bomberman was special and really entertaining, and this was my favorite version of it. I always liked to play the story version, and with some friend - otherwise, it was almost impossible to get through all the 5 worlds! If you have never tried Bomberman, I highly recommend this one!

So, this is it. Do you also have some special video games from your childhood?
Game players, please comment here. I would love to know other players that may be reading this. :)
